March 21, 2026 - "Be A Super Sleuth: Accessing Images and Full-Text Search in Family Search" by Jill Morelli, CG, CGL - Did you know that Family Search is placing their recently digitized material online in less than 24 hours after it is scanned? Did you know that they were placing them, not in the Catalog, but in Images? Did you know that using "Full Text Search," you can conduct an all word search in certain documents? What is a Super Sleuth to do? We will learn how to access these two features of FS to find your ancestors. Treasures await!
Speaker - Jill Morelli, CG CGL, is a writer, lecturer and founder of the Certification Discussion Group, an online series which demystifies the journey to certification managed by the Board for Certification of Genealogists. She lectures nationally and has written articles for the National Genealogy Society Quarterly, Swedish American Genealogist, and many others. She publishes regularly and is working on her second book - a compilation of all the articles she has written about her family. Jill is a past president of the Seattle Genealogical Society, Program chair of the Puget Sound- Association of Professional Genealogists and a member of many local genealogical societies.

We'll do a deep dive into census records and learn some tips and tricks for extracting as much information as possible from each record.

- Experienced genealogists will be available to help from 11:30 to 1:00 pm:
- You get started researching your family tree
- Answer questions about a research problem
- Access records on FamilySearch that require access from an Affiliate Library.
- Use equipment to scan books, including large format and convert film to digital.
- Bring your favorite project and work on it in the company of other researchers.
Plano Old City Cemetery Association
The Plano Old City Cemetery Association (POCCA) is a non-profit, non-perpetual care association founded by descendants of those buried within its boundaries and other interested parties. Its mission is to preserve, restore and protect the property, gravesites, monuments and other appurtenances within the Plano Old City Cemetery located at 12th and H Streets in Plano, Texas. Any person who supports the mission of the Association is eligible for membership. Membership is by application & payment of dues, download the membership form here.
