2026
May 7, 2026 - Magic Wills

We'll be discussing an article from TXSGS Stirpes so this meeting will require registration.
Bring your experiences, questions, and favorite discoveries. Guests are welcome!

Female ancestor research was the featured theme for the June 2024 issue of Stirpes and this article provides some excellent examples illustrating how the author located important and useful details about numerous female members of her family tree.
The reason author Emily Coffman Richardson chose the title “Magic Wills” is explained in the conclusion of her article. She states, “It’s important to consider all options when searching for the women in your family tree. Even though a woman is not typically included in certain records or she is found in an unexpected locality, go ahead and look. You just might discover your ancestor hidden away in someone else’s story. Discovering these women is truly magical.”
The article is broken down into four case studies, each involving a will or probate records.

🔎 Discussion Questions will be emailed out with the article and resources to everyone who registers for the meeting.
