Genealogy Round Table - Zoom - May 7, 2026
May Topic - Magic Wills - Stirpes Article
Female ancestor research was the featured theme of the June 2024 issue of Stirpes and this article provides some excellent examples illustrating how the author located important and useful details about numerous female members of her family tree. The reason author Emily Coffman Richardson chose the title "Magic Wills" is explained in the conclusion of the article. She states, "It's important to consider all options when searching for the women in your family tree. Even though a woman is not typically included in certain records or she is found in an unexpected locality, go ahead and look. You just might discover your ancestor hidden away in someone else's story. Discovering these women is truly magical."
This meeting requires registration and will not be recorded. Click here to register.
Join us via Zoom — We are a group of genealogy enthusiasts who get together to share information and help each other.

Program at 10:30 - The Other Census: U.S. Territorial and State Census Records
Frequently genealogists will focus strictly on the U.S. Census records and forget that many of the U.S. states and territories conducted their own census at some point. Learn which states and territories have these amazing records, how to access them, and how to incorporate them into your genealogy research. Participants will learn how to determine if a specific state or territory conducted their own census and when. In addition, we'll cover how to access these records both online and in-person at various repositories. Finally, we'll review how to take state and territorial census data and incorporate it into your current genealogy research.
