Learn-N's

Learn-N’s are morning sessions, usually with 2 topics, to help you with tools, techniques and methods for your genealogy research.  They are held at the W.O. Haggard, Jr. Library, 2501 Coit Rd., Plano, Texas, in the first floor Program Room. Space is limited. A $10.00 donation would be appreciated. Donations are used to purchase materials for the Genealogy section of the Haggard Library.

April 28, 2012 – The 1940 Census will be released on April 2nd. Join us to learn about strategies for searching in census records and to walk through a case study of research in the 1940 Census. The process of taking the census and indexing it for us to research online has numerous places where things can go wrong that can make it difficult for us to find our ancestors. Learn a few techniques that can help get around these pitfalls. Speaker will be Barbara Coakley. We will also have volunteers available in the Genealogy Section during the second hour to help you if you want to try and locate your ancestors in the 1940 Census using the library computers.
