The old Foote Baptist Church was named for Dr. Gerald Alexander Foote, one of the county's earliest physicians and a relative of George Washington.

In the 1990s the building was moved from the Foote community, which was located about 5 miles west of McKinney.

It is now part of Chestnut Square in McKinney and is used for weddings and meetings.
